"Welcome, dear Sarab, to the land of Mirage Desert." We had arrived at the border of the great expance of sand, with it's hidden treaure, deep with in the middle. The wind blew harsh and hot, even in Autumn. The sand was scorching hot, even in Autumn. The sun was searing hot even in Autumn. Yup, that was my home alright. Notice my extensive use of the word hot? Well, I have used it will good reason. The sweat trickled down from behind my ears, in littel rivulets down my muscled neck. "Incase you are deterred, in the middle of this land (thank god I knew where) there is an oasis. There is plenty of grass, water and shade." She was lucky. She had someone to guide her. I had found it the hard way. The hard, and very hot way. I moved forward, the tiny granules that were the same crimson hue as me, flickering up behind my hooves...

I watched Soar walk away. I followed. But despire the scorching hot sun. I broke into a gallop.
Sand was flinging everywhere. I felt a sweat break out from my back. My breathing became slightly heavier. Finally. I saw the oasis come into view.
I tried to go faster. And then I dove into it. Only to find it was a mirage. Then, up ahead. I saw the real oasis.
It was beautiful. Then I jumped into the cool, clear aqua. It feels so good. I whinny joyfully and sip at the water. Then I called for Soar to join me.

I tried to call her back as she broke into a gallop and streaked ahead, tried to warn her. Too late! I chuckled as she dove into the sand. But at last, she discovered the real one. There was a moment of complete and utter silence after the summons had left her muzzle. Freeze this moment in time, and take a look. It was quite a magnificent sight, really. Soaring through the air, a splendorous blood hued stallion, mane and tail streaming out, shining a deep copper in the sun. And below, a beautiful deep bay, enjoying the crystal clear water in the bright sunlight. Unfreeze the moment. Sploosh! A torrent of water was released. I landed in the water, the deluge raining down upon both myself and Sarab. I laughed, and before you know it, I was off through the water, splashing about and grabbing mouthfuls upon the way.

Despite the place being a desert. It is the most perfect place I have ever seen. With the most perfect stallion ever known to equine kind.
I turn to face him. In the scorching hot sun. And in the cool aqua. With the red sand beneath.
All I utter is one word. ".Perfect."

"One of the many reasons I call this place home, Sarab." I was glad she liked it. Glancing around, I realised that this place was actually pretty nice. Bar the scorching heat and blaring sun, this was a place that I was happy to call home. She was right. It was, in truth, perfect. A perfect land, to share with the perfect mare. "So, you interested in being a lead mare?" Ha, that was me. Straight to the point. All herds needed a lead mare, even if that herd only consisted of two horses. Sarab and I. But eventually... (I hoped) there would be others, and Sarab being the first would know the lay of the land, the ways of the wolves (and me) better then any others would.

I am slightly shocked by the question being asked so early. I am taken by surprise. And stutter like an idiot. Just great.
Looking and sounding like a fool. I gather myself. "Of course. Who woulden't."
But that was true. I think. I wasn't very sure at all.

I notice her studdering. "I'm sorry if I asked to soon, Sarab." I didn't say anymore, but gave her a questioning look. I still hadnt received a direct yes or no, and so stood in what I hoped was a politeful stance, waiting for the answer. Maybe she would delay? I suppose I had asked the question a little to early, but, oh well.
[argh, sorry 'tis so short, i am at school and have to to go now]

I laughed. Was it because it felt like laughing? Or just because.. I really don't know why.
Um. I don't know it is soon. But oh well. This might not come as an opportunity again.
Um. "Yes!" It's satisfying to say yes. Yes. It is. I smile. Wow. Weird.
